چکیده

In order to compare the effectiveness of thaHium-201 (20111) myocardial perfusion scintigraphy and the exercise electrocardiogram for identifying patients with multivessel coronary artery disease, these noninvasive tests and coronary arteriography were performed in 89 patients with prior inferior wall myocardial infarction. Eighty patients performed an adequate exercise test (angina, ST-segment depression or achievement of 85 percent maximum age-predicted heart rate). Of these 80 patients, coronary angiography documented multivessel disease in 57 and single-vessel disease in the remaining 23. Of the 57 patients with multivessel disease, ‘#{176}1Tl correctly predicted multivessel disease in 58 percent and the exercise ECG was positive in 63 percent. Of the 23 patients with single vessel disease 20111 was negative for multis’essel disease in 91 percent,

Comparison of single-dose and double-dose thallium-201 myocardial perfusion scintigraphy for the detection of coronary artery disease and prior myocardial infarction.

Thallium-201 myocardial perfusion scintigraphy was performed after exercise, 4 hours after exercise (redistribution) and after a separate rest injection in 87 patients undergoing coronary arteriography. Significant coronary lesions were present in 62 of the patients. Interpretation of the rest and redistribution scintiscans was the same in 69 patients, 45 of whom had coronary artery disease (CA...

Serial Myocardial Imaging after a Single Dose of Thallium-201

Although thallium-201 exercise scintigraphy has been established for the detection of myocardial ischemia and viability, little is known regarding the myocardial thallium-201 kinetics during angioplasty. Herein, we report a 77-year old man with angina pectoris, in whom serial myocardial imaging after a single dose of thallium-201 was helpful in identifying not only the culprit lesion and myocar...

Myocardial damage of the entire ventricular region in a patient with acute myocardial infarction

Technetium-99m-pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP) has been used, in combination with thallium-201, to estimate the site and extent of myocardial infarcts. We report a case of acute myocardial infarction with severe coronary disease in which the distribution of 99mTc-PYP was extensive. A 78-year-old man presented with dyspnea, and a diagnosis of non-ST-segment elevation acute myocar...

Comparison of late enhancement cardiovascular magnetic resonance and thallium SPECT in patients with coronary disease and left ventricular dysfunction.

PURPOSE Late enhancement magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was compared with thallium-201 rest-redistribution single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) in patients with reduced left ventricular (LV) function and prior myocardial infarction (MI). BACKGROUND Hyperenhancement on contrast cardiac MRI using gadolinium diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (Gd-DTPA) has been reported to ident...

Detection of residual jeopardized myocardium 3 weeks after myocardial infarction by exercise testing with thallium-201 myocardial scintigraphy.

The usefulness of thallium-201 (Tl-201) exercise myocardial scintigraphy in identifying patients with multivessel coronary artery disease (MVCAD) and residual jeopardized myocardium after myocardial infarction (MI) was evaluated in 32 patients 3 weeks after MI. All patients underwent 1) limited multilead submaximal treadmill testing, 2) thallium-201 (TI) myocardial scintigraphy at end-exercise ...
